We are recruiting a Civil Engineer (Freelance – 6 months) for our client in Renewable Energy and Low Carbon Projects . The position is open to both national and expatriate candidates in Fort Dauphin, Madagascar.

Responsibilities:

Managing, designing, developing, and overseeing the civil works comprising of land preparation, erosion prevention, roadworks, power supply, access to water, management of storm water and sewerage, and plant facilities for production, storage of raw materials and finished goods, and offices.
Conducting on-site investigations and analyzing data, such as maps, reports, tests, and drawings.
Undertaking technical and feasibility studies and creating blueprints that meet technical specifications.
Performing an environmental impact assessment, ensuring compliance with HSEC guidelines and regulations, and obtaining permits where required.
Assessing costs, materials, and potential risks.
Playing an advisory role in selecting contractor(s).
Overseeing the work of the contractor(s) on behalf of the company.
Monitoring progress and compiling reports on project status.
Providing advice and resolving emerging problems or deficiencies.

Qualifications

Proven experience in civil engineering.
Knowledge of design and visualization software like AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, and regulatory approvals.
Project management and supervision skills.
Mastery of HSEC requirements and their design implications.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Professional engineer license.
A bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering.
Knowledge of calculus, trigonometry, and advanced mathematics for analysis, design, and troubleshooting.
Leadership and organizational skills.
Problem-solving and writing skills.
